Family Cars

If there is already one, or more, cars in your family then think carefully before adding another one. Can you manage with the ones you have?

If you have to make a few compromises on who drives when or can drop and pick up easily then you should be able to get along without the additional expense that another car will bring. There are also the added advantages of not having to find somewhere to park it and having less cars to wash when the urge strikes you.

Be careful with the insurance. Make sure that all the people who need to drive are named drivers on the policy covering the existing car and make sure that the policy is in the name of the main driver. Insurance companies have got wise to it being 'mums car' but then being driven to and from work/school by the newly named young driver. You could find yourself without insurance cover if you try to fool your insurance company to save yourself money on the insurance.
