Not everybody needs to own a car. If you only need to use one occasionally, then why have the cost and trouble of having one sitting outside?

If you only want the use of a car to go on holiday in or for weekend visits to see you mates at the other end of the country, then it'll be so much cheaper to rent than to buy and then not using it much.

Renting a car is pretty easy once you've got your full licence but there are usually minimum age restriction, often 21 or even 25, with most rental companies. You'll find similar restrictions if you want to rent a car abroad.

There are an increasing number of Pay-as-you-Go car companies springing up in the UK - often with lower age restrictions. There might just be one in your area.....
